Leaving standing water and other liquids can wreak havoc on hardwood flooring. Don’t let your floor become damaged by leaving the spill to clean later. Immediately wipe up all spills as they happen.
Sweep or vacuum your floor regularly with proper hardwood floor tools. Use a good dust mop, one with a 12-18 inch cotton head and special dust mop treatment.
Avoid oil cleaners at all times; they can create problems when it comes time to maintaining your floors. Use a neutral pH cleaner made specifically for wood floors.
